Choosing the Right ID Card
Blank white PVC cards are the simplest option for straightforward photo ID, and the most cost-effective choice for bulk staff or visitor issuing. If the card also needs to open doors or clock staff in and out, it will need encoding for your access control system, such as MIFARE, HID iCLASS or Paxton Net2. These technologies aren't interchangeable, so check with your installer or IT team before ordering. And if they aren't sure, contact our team and we can help identify which cards you need for your system.
Lighter cards are fine for short-term visitor or event passes, but for any ID cards that will be used daily, we recommend 760 micron cards*. It's the standard thickness, giving the same durability as a bank card, ensuring that the card holds up over time.
We also stock cards made from recycled PVC, for an environmentally friendly option. They perform the same as standard cards but are made with 85% recycled PVC.
*Before ordering your ID cards, please check the capabilities of your ID card printer. Most printers can take 760 micron cards, but some models can only accept thinner cards.
