Genuine NXP, System-Specific, or Just MIFARE-Compatible?
Not every card that works with a MIFARE reader actually contains a genuine NXP chip. Our NXP MIFARE Classic cards use the real thing, so they work with the vast majority of MIFARE readers worldwide. Other cards on this page, such as our SecurAccess option, use a compatible chip that still talks to MIFARE readers, often at a lower cost, though it's worth checking compatibility with your specific reader before ordering in volume.
Some cards here are built for one system specifically. The Paxton 692-148 is programmed with a unique eight-digit ID for Net2 software, and our Salto card is built for Salto's E9 series readers. If your access control system is one of these, the system-specific card is the safer choice over a generic smart card.
The memory size of your cards matters. 1K is enough for most access control and ID applications, and 4K only becomes necessary if you're storing more data on the card itself, such as multiple applications or a larger amount of encoded information. If you're not sure which memory size your system needs, please get in touch with our team.
