Choosing the right card for your access control system
Choosing the right card for your access control system is vital to ensure that everything works as it should. Here's a breakdown of the cards we stock.
If your doors run on proximity, the 692-500 is the one to go for. It's just the proximity chip, so there's no magnetic stripe like the 692-448 has. Need that same access to also work with a separate swipe-based system, like time and attendance or a cashless canteen? Go for the 692-448 instead. It carries a magnetic stripe alongside the proximity chip. There's a version of that one with a signature panel too, which is handy if reception wants to check a signature against the card at a glance.
Then there's the 695-573, the odd one out: no proximity chip at all, just a magnetic stripe, built specifically for Net2's Cardlock swipe readers. Put this in a proximity reader, and it simply won't do anything,
Running MIFARE instead of standard 125kHz proximity? The 692-148's built for that, at 13.56MHz. It's always worth checking your reader's frequency before ordering, since a card built for one won't read on the other.
If budget's tight, our compatible version of the 692-500 does the same job as the genuine Paxton card for less nd there's an 85% recycled option. These cards aren't made by Paxton themselves, but they are high-quality and work just as well as the real thing.
