Stripe-Only or Combined With Proximity?
Every magnetic stripe card we stock uses a HiCo (high-coercivity) stripe, rated at 2750 or 4000 Oe depending on the card. HiCo resists accidental erasure far better than a low-coercivity stripe, which matters for a card that's swiped daily and needs to keep working for years, not just months.
The bigger decision is whether you need the stripe on its own, or combined with a second technology. Our Paxton 695-573 card carries a magnetic stripe only, for straightforward Cardlock swipe readers. The Paxton 692-448 adds an eight-digit proximity ID alongside the stripe, useful where Net2 proximity access needs to sit alongside a separate swipe-based system, such as time and attendance or cashless payment. MIFARE Classic and DESFire versions do the same job for organisations running those contactless technologies instead.
Need a visible signature for extra verification at reception or security? The Paxton 692-448 is also available with a writable signature panel.
